Predators continue their GM search — The Fourth Period
The Nashville Predators are moving along in their hunt for a new General Manager and began in-person interviews with candidates this past week.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman confirmed during the “Saturday Headlines” segment on Hockey Night in Canada that the Predators held in-person interviews last week, naming Florida Panthers assistant GM Brett Peterson, Dallas Stars assistant GM Scott White, Carolina Hurricanes assistant GM Darren Yorke and Edmonton Oilers assistant GM Bill Scott.
Friedman also reported the Predators asked for permission to speak with Hurricanes GM Eric Tulsky but were denied.
It is believed the Predators would have been open to hiring Tulsky in a President and GM position.
The Predators have also been linked to having interest in Toronto Maple Leafs assistant GM Brandon Pridham, former Oilers and Boston Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli, and former Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin.
Once a new GM is hired, current GM Barry Trotz plans on retiring.
A timeline for a hire is not yet known, thought the belief is the Predators would like to bring on a new GM by the end of this month.
