I’m Lyle Richardson of The Hockey News, and in today’s NHL Rumor Roundup column, I’m looking at the latest on Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin, Anaheim Ducks winger Cutter Gauthier, and Columbus Blue Jackets center Adam Fantilli.

Begin with Larkin, as speculation still persists over whether he will expand his list of preferred trade destinations.

Now, his trade request is currently in limbo as the Red Wings are continuing to search for a new general manager.

Now, you’ll recall that Larkin’s initial list included the Minnesota Wild, the Florida Panthers, and the Vegas Golden Knights.

However, none of those teams seem to have either the cap space or the type of assets that would entice the Wings to trade him.

And if he’s serious about being moved, then the thinking goes that he’s going to have to broaden that list.

Now, there’s been some who suggest that the Montreal Canadiens would be a good destination for Larkin if he’s serious about winning a Stanley Cup.

However, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the Canadiens are not on his list of destinations.

And Lavoie believes that that’s extremely unfortunate because Larkin could help the Canadiens fill their second line center role, and it would be a good destination for him if Larkin is serious about winning a Stanley Cup.

Meanwhile, Elliot Friedman weighed in on the contract talks regarding Gauthier and Fantilli.

He said that there seems to be some progress between Gauthier and the Ducks, but he anticipates that the final number is going to be a really, really big one for Gauthier.

And that makes sense because he reportedly rejected a four-year offer worth an average annual value of 13 million.

As for Fantilli, the two sides, there still seems to be a gap.

Friedman doesn’t believe it’s going to be a serious one, but he pointed out that the Blue Jackets have yet to reach a number that they’re comfortable with.
