Deen’s Daily: Avs New EBUG; Red Wings GM Update; Habs’ Top Trade Pieces
The Colorado Avalanche have designated their emergency backup goalie for the upcoming season. The Red Wings don’t have a GM yet and one of their top in-house candidates is no longer interested. Also, the Habs have cap space to make moves and plenty of trade pieces.

Colorado Hockey Now
The Colorado Avalanche designated their EBUG for the 2026-27 season. Don’t forget, the new CBA calls for each team to have an employed EBUG who will travel with the club. Gone are the days of an in-arena EBUG serving in that position for both teams.
The Avs also made an addition to their player development staff.
