Canadiens close out regular season vs. Flyers
The Montreal Canadiens (48-23-10) will look to enter the playoffs on a winning note in their final game of the regular season against the Philadelphia Flyers (42-27-12) on Tuesday at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Puck drop at 7 p.m. (TSN2, RDS, TSN Radio 690, 98.5 FM).
Here’s what you need to know:
- Both teams have already punched their tickets to the postseason. The Canadiens will meet the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round. Home-ice advantage remains up for grabs with each team playing once more.
- Cole Caufield (50 goals) and Nick Suzuki (100 points) have already reached the milestone stats they were chasing. Who’s left? Lane Hutson needs one more assist to pass Larry Robinson for the all-time mark for a Habs defenceman in a season.
- Jakub Dobes starts in goal. He’s expected to be the Game 1 starter for the Habs.
- Will the Habs rest some of their key regulars? Will we also see plenty of rookie blue liners David Reinbacher and Adam Engstrom? The former had a point in his NHL debut on Sunday.

First Period: Flyers strike twice
Jakub Dobes starting off strong by robbing Matvei Michkov on a breakaway.
First rounder Porter Martone is a hot topic league-wide since joining the Flyers, and he opened scoring for his new club. 1-0 Flyers
Oliver Bonk, son of Radek, is playing his first NHL game. He got an assist on the first goal and scored the second. 2-0 Flyers
Second Period: Habs inch closer
With Phillip Danault and Josh Anderson sitting, Brendan Gallagher got a chance to return to the lineup and he made the most of it. 2-1 Flyers
Flyers regained their two-goal lead. Dobes tried to clear the puck, but it hit Jake Evans and went right to Michkov in front. First goal and third point of the night. 3-1 Flyers
With 11 seconds left in the period, Arber Xhekaj lowered a booming shot and Jake Evans potted home the rebound to make it a one-goal game. 3-2 Flyers
Caufield did something arguably harder than score his 52nd goal: he got a shot stuck in goalie Samuel Ersson’s gear.
Third Period:
At four-on-four, Alex Bump picked Juraj Slafkovsky’s pocket to once again give the home team a two-goal advantage. 4-2 Flyers
