Canadiens call up defenceman Adam Engstrom from Laval
The Montreal Canadiens have recalled defenceman Adam Engstrom from the AHL’s Laval Rocket.
In 45 games with the farm club, the 22-year-old Swedish blueliner has 10 goals and 34 points. He’s also a +14.
A year ago, Engstrom had 27 points in 66 games in his rookie season in Laval.
Engstrom has already been recalled twice this season. In total, the former third-round pick from 2022 has played 11 games for the Canadiens. He has zero points, six penalty minutes and is a +3.
No corresponding move was announced. The team currently has seven defencemen on the roster, including Arber Xhekaj, who started at forward for the first time yesterday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
