Bruins talking to Arvidsson, Peeke — The Fourth Period

Share

The Boston Bruins are trying to get some housekeeping in order before the free agent doors swing open on July 1.

Pending unrestricted free agent forward Viktor Arvidsson and defenceman Andrew Peeke are eligible to hit the open market in 12 days unless they agree to new contracts with Boston.

According to TFP’s David Pagnotta, the Bruins are having ongoing discussions with the camps for both players about extensions.

Arvidsson, 33, rebounded this season with Boston, picking up 25 goals and 29 assists for 54 points and a plus-20 rating in 69 games. It’s unclear as to the type of contract he is looking for, but his performance certainly justifies Boston’s desire to hold on to him.
