Montreal Canadiens player Alexandre Carrier and wife Alicia Lessard welcome first baby: ‘Perfect angel girl’
It’s a new era for Alexandre Carrier and Alicia Lessard. The Montreal Canadiens defenceman and his wife are officially parents after welcoming their baby girl earlier this month.
On Tuesday, Lessard shared a carousel of photos from the special day, which included snapshots of the newborn, Carrier holding their baby and other images from the hospital. The post also featured two selfies of the couple and pictures of their baby when they took her home.
“Our daughter,” Lessard wrote in French in the caption to her post with pink heart emojis, adding “Something Like Olivia” by John Mayer as the post’s song. “Olivia Carrier, 6.5 lbs, 07-07-2026.”
Fellow wives and girlfriends of NHL stars and other people shared congratulatory messages in the comments section of the post.

“Perfect angel girl,” Paola Anderson, the wife of Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson, penned. “Can’t wait to meet her!”
“Congrats again, she’s beautiful,” Jordan Leigh Laine, the wife of Montreal Canadiens right wing Patrik Laine, chimed in.
“Welcome, angel girl. Good job, momma,” Abbey McKeown, the wife of Canadian hockey player Roland McKeown, commented. “Congratulations!”
“She couldn’t be more perfect! The most beautiful family,” Libby Reese, the fiancée of Toronto Maple Leafs centre Colton Sissons, added. “Can’t wait to meet her!”
Olivia is Carrier and Lessard’s first child. Lessard, who’s a family doctor in Côte St-Luc, Que., announced she was pregnant on Feb. 20. At the time, she took to social media with four photos she and Carrier took during a photo shoot against a brown backdrop.
“Soon to be three,” she captioned that post.
The couple have been married since July 2024, when they tied the knot in a romantic vineyard wedding in Sutton, Que. The duo held their nuptials at Château Ste-Agnès, and Carrier shared outtakes from their magical ceremony on social media at the time.
“Grateful to call you my wife,” the 29-year-old Quebec City-born athlete captioned his post, along with a white heart emoji.
The photos included the couple sharing a kiss on a dock, the two embracing on a path in the middle of the vineyard, the moment right after they said their “I dos” and more personal pictures with their wedding guests and family.
Carrier and Lessard got engaged in July 2022, after the NHL star popped the question to the family physician with a beachside proposal.
“A thousand times yes! Biggest and best surprise of my entire life, I love you so, so much. For freakin’ ever!” Lessard captioned her Instagram post at the time announcing the news.
