Montreal Canadiens acquire Sasha Pastujov from the Anaheim Ducks for Sean Farrell

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired forward Sasha Pastujov from the Anaheim Ducks for Sean Farrell.
Pastujov, 23, is a restricted free agent like Farrell. He was a third round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.
He is listed as 6’0, 183 lbs and played 71 games with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL last season with 21 goals and 36 assists. He should look to play a similar role to what Farrell brought and it is a fresh start for both players.
Farrell just completed his third full season in the Canadiens organization after a six-game NHL stint at the end of 2022-23. He didn’t play a game with Montreal since that initial late-season experience, but had been one of the top players for the AHL team.
He remains a long shot to make the NHL roster, and that became more true within a Canadiens organization focusing on size this off-season. He will hope for a better chance to play NHL games in Anaheim.
