Canadiens fail to register shot in second period of Game 7
If the Montreal Canadiens are to win Game 7 of their first-round series, they can’t repeat their second-period shot total.
Against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday night, the Canadiens failed to register a single shot in the middle frame.
Heading into the third, the Canadiens had accumulated four shots on goal, all from the first period, while the Lightning put together 21.
Montreal scored on its fourth shot of the night, with captain Nick Suzuki putting the club up 1-0 in the opening 20.
The Lightning responded in the second, as Tampa Bay’s Dominic James beat Jakub Dobes to even the scoring.
The winner of Game 7 will move on to the second round and face the Buffalo Sabres.
