Big risks on the line if 50/50 prize gets up to $100K
There’s one week to go in the Farwell4Hire 50/50 campaign and Mike Farwell is willing to make some big sacrifices to raise the jackpot, while supporting Cystic Fibrosis research.
Farwell is a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and if you’ve listened to his talk show on 570 NewsRadio, you know how he feels about the Habs.
He actively refers to the Montreal Canadiens as the “team who shall not be named,” but that could soon change for a good cause.
Farwell is upping the ante on his previous promise to take part in a live hot wing eating challenge on his talk show.
“If the jackpot in the Farwell4Hire 50/50 reaches $150,000 — or a take home prize of $75,000 — I will not just do the Hot Ones challenge on the air, I will do it while wearing a jersey of the team who shall not be named.”
Farwell’s even willing to take it a step further if the take-home prize reaches $100,000.
“I will cheer for that team, the team that shall not be named, for an entire year. The next season will be ‘the team that shall not be named season’ on this show — you can say the team’s name, I’ll cheer for them with you.”
Caller Randy then had another suggestion, much to Farwell’s dismay, as he said the Leafs should become the team who shall not be named.
Farwell agreed, albeit begrudgingly, but noted the Leafs slander will only take effect if the take home prize gets up to $105,000.
