Chris Kreider Joins Canadiens – NHL News
Left wing Chris Kreider has joined the Montreal Canadiens on a one-year contract. According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the contract is worth $2.15 million, but Kreider can earn an extra $3 million through bonuses. Kreider was an unrestricted free agent after his contract with the Anaheim Ducks terminated earlier this week. The veteran forward, who has recorded 11 20-goal seasons during his 14-year NHL career, will add experience and quality to an exciting Canadiens team, which is coached by his former New York Rangers teammate, Martin St. Louis. If he avoids injuries, there’s no reason why Kreider shouldn’t reach 20 goals again in 2026-27.
