Canadiens Rookie Camp Schedule And Players To Watch
The Montreal Canadiens have announced the opening date of their Rookie Camp, scheduled to begin on September 11, at CN Sports Complex in Brossard. The camp will then shift to Gatineau, ahead of a pair of games at the Slush Puppy Centre versus the Winnipeg Jets on September 12, and the Ottawa Senators on September 13.
The team will then hold its annual golf tournament on September 14, at Laval-sur-le-Lac Golf Club, before returning to Brossard to close out the camp on September 15.
The Canadiens training camp is scheduled to open on September 16, making it a rather busy week for the prospects who will be included in the main camp.
There are 23 players invited, including 13 forwards, seven defencemen, and three forwards.

Montreal Canadiens Rookies To Watch
There aren’t any marquee names heading to camp, though there are a handful of players who were drafted by the Canadiens and made their way into our annual Montreal Canadiens Top 20 prospect rankings, as voted on by Habs fans.
Among the forwards, Tyler Thorpe will look to impose his physical style of play on his opponents, while posturing for promotion in the Laval Rocket lineup. Thorpe scored four goals and 12 assists in 64 games during his rookie season in the AHL.
Parker Trottier, chosen 189th overall at the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, will also make his way to the camp, though he’s set to join the Regina Pats in the WHL, before moving on to the University of Notre Dame in 2027-28.
On the back end, Owen Protz will garner a fair amount of attention due to his exquisitely violent style of play. Having your head on a swivel is key when facing Protz, as he will not hesitate to demolish his opponents with a heavy hit when the opportunity arises.
Protz will be joined by Luke Mittelstadt, who finished his NCAA career with a very encouraging season, where he scored two goals and 19 assists in 36 games while serving as the University of Minnesota captain. He also joined the Rocket at the end of the year, earning a goal and four assists in just nine games.
