Devils sign Mantha to 2-year contract — The Fourth Period

The New Jersey Devils have signed unrestricted free agent forward Anthony Mantha to a two-year, $9.5 million contract.

Though his annual average value is $4.75 million, he will earn $5.4 million in actual salary this season and $4.1 million in salay in 2027-28.

Mantha, 31, recorded 33 goals and 31 assists for 64 points in 81 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, marking his first 30-goal campaign in the NHL.

The native of Longueuil, Quebec, has totaled 179 goals and 188 assists for 367 career points in 588 regular-season games with the Detroit Red Wings, Washington Capitals, Vegas Golden Knights, Calgary Flames and Penguins.

Mantha was originally selected by Detroit with the 20th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
