There was quite a bit of important news with the Montreal Canadiens today. Two absences at Canadiens practice are indeed raising eyebrows.

The Montreal Canadiens confirmed that Josh Anderson and Alexandre Texier did not take part in practice, due to a treatment day.

It’s not an official scratch for the game, but it is a yellow flag.

When two regular forwards are off the ice on the same day, Martin St-Louis already has to start thinking about his options.

They are clearly dealing with discomfort / injuries.

Alexandre Texier and Josh Anderson do not appear to be at 100%

In Texier’s case, the treatment day comes at a time when his role has grown since his arrival, and as he will have to defend his spot with the imminent returns of Kirby Dach and Patrik Laine.

The good news is that practice also brought smiles elsewhere.

Patrik Laine, Jake Evans, and Kirby Dach skated in regular jerseys, opening the door to potential returns to the lineup.

Situations to monitor, but it really feels like tomorrow’s lineup could go in several different directions.

“A few familiar faces joined the Canadiens in the nation’s capital on Friday.

Kirby Dach, Jake Evans, and Patrik Laine took the ice with their teammates at the Bell Sensplex.

Meanwhile, Josh Anderson and Alexandre Texier were given a treatment day and did not participate in the session.”

It sets the stage nicely for the game against the Ottawa Senators!
