Let’s be honest: the trade deadline is approaching and things are starting to heat up on the market.
Sergei Bobrovsky is being monitored in Florida because the Panthers are struggling with a 29-25-3 record.
The 37-year-old veteran is in the final year of his $10 million contract. At the moment, Bob has a 3.13 goals-against average and an .871 save percentage after 40 games played.
We can agree those are not Vezina Trophy numbers, but a contending team could still be interested. The Panthers are currently 8th in the Atlantic, well behind our Montreal Canadiens, who sit in 2nd place.
Speaking of the Habs, Alex Tuch’s name is also resurfacing in discussions. The Buffalo Sabres forward is having a solid season with 22 goals and 48 points in 56 games.

Adding a 6-foot-4 player like Tuch would solidify Martin St. Louis’ top six. Especially since he brings physicality, with 58 hits recorded this season.
In Nashville, it’s simple: Steven Stamkos has rediscovered his scoring touch despite the Predators’ struggles. Stammer has totaled 28 goals in 57 games, but carries a -16 rating.
The Predators sit 24th overall in the standings with just 59 points. If Nashville decides to enter rebuilding mode, Stamkos could become a premium asset on the market.
Let’s be honest, Kent Hughes has the resources to make a major move before next Friday. The Canadiens are on fire with 72 points and an offense that has produced 199 goals this season.
