Share

The Los Angeles Kings have been exploring the trade market for some additional ammunition up front and the loss of winger Kevin Fiala has put a stamp on the team’s search for another top-six forward.

Kings GM Ken Holland is scouring the market for a playmaking forward and keeping is options open, while also kicking the tires on another goal-scoring winger.

TFP’s Dennis Bernstein confirmed and reported on Tuesday that the Kings reached out to the Montreal Canadiens about sniper Patrik Laine, but a deal is not considered close and the Kings are believed to be evaluating other options at this time.

“As the Kings explore the market for a top-six forward, I can confirm they spoke with Montreal about Patrik Laine,” Bernstein reported via X. “However, there doesn’t seem to be a fit right now and Kings are now looking elsewhere.”

The Kings acquired star left wing Artemi Panarin from the New York Rangers on Feb. 4 prior to the Olympic roster freeze and have continued to look at additional options, even prior to Fiala’s season-ending injury.
