Ekman-Larsson hopes to stay in Toronto — The Fourth Period
The Toronto Maple Leafs are engaged in numerous trade talks with clubs across the NHL and with the March 6 trade deadline just eight days away, those conversations will surely pick up over the next few days.
With plenty of speculation surrounding the likes of defenceman Brandon Carlo and forwards Scott Laughton, Max Domi, Mattias Maccelli and Bobby McMann, some teams are believed to have interest in veteran blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
Ekman-Larsson, 34, is in the second season of a four-year, $14 million contract and owns a 16-team no-trade list as part of his contract.
Teams may be calling, but the Leafs may prefer to keep him. And the defenceman hopes to stay, as well.

As reported by Nick Alberga, Ekman-Larsson “doesn’t want to go anywhere” and wants to stay with the Maple Leafs well beyond the trade deadline.
“He loves Toronto. He wants to stay in Toronto. He wants to win in Toronto,” Alberga reported via X.
In 58 games with the Leafs so far this season, Ekman-Larsson has registered eight goals and 26 assists for 34 points.
