Charline Labonté joins Vancouver Goldeneyes as consultant

Former Team Canada and Montreal Canadiennes goaltender Charline Labonté has been hired as a player development consultant for the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s Vancouver Goldeneyes, the team announced on Tuesday.
Labonté played in eight world championships and three Olympic Games for Canada, and spent four seasons with the Canadian Women’s Hockey League’s Montreal Canadiennes, winning the Clarkson Cup championship in her final season in 2016-17.
She earned a teaching degree and a master’s in sports psychology from McGill University (where she also led the Martlets to three national championships), and has worked as a goalie coach and sports psychology consultant since retiring as a player.
“We’re so excited to have Charline join our team,” Vancouver Goldeneyes General Manager Cara Gardner Morey said in
. “She has tremendous experience as an elite player and Olympian and is one of the best to ever play our sport. We’re so happy that she can help guide and develop our players as they navigate their professional careers.”
The Goldeneyes will play the Montreal Victoire Jan. 11 in Quebec City’s Videotron Centre.
