Canucks continue Kane trade talks — The Fourth Period
The Vancouver Canucks remain engaged in ongoing trade discussions involving forward Evander Kane, who is playing on an expiring contract.
Kane, 34, is in the final season of a four-year, $20.5 million contract and has a 16-team approved trade list as part of his deal.
Monday evening, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali on CHEK in Vancouver reported the Canucks have given Kane’s agent, Dan Milstein, permission to speak with other teams to help facilitate a trade.
On Tuesday, TFP’s David Pagnotta followed up on that report, stating the Canucks are willing to retain a portion of Kane’s remaining contract, but the club wants to receive a draft pick and/or prospect in return for the veteran winger.
The Canucks have to salary retention slots available to them this season.
