Columbus trades Chinakhov to Pittsburgh — The Fourth Period
The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded forward Yegor Chinakhov to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for draft picks.

Chinakhov, 24, picked up three goals and three assists for six points in 29 games with the Blue Jackets this season.
The native of Omsk, Russia, requested a trade prior to the start of the 2025-26 regular-season and the Blue Jackets had been trying to accommodate his request since.
In 204 career NHL regular-season games, all with Columbus, Chinakhov has accumulated 37 goals and 40 assists for 77 points.
He was originally drafted 21st overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2020 NHL Draft.
