Goalies Steal the Week: Outrageous Saves You Won’t Believe | NHL Saves of the Week

Share

NHL goaltenders delivered some of the wildest, most desperate stops of the season — and this week’s compilation is packed with pure highway robbery.

Philadelphia’s Dan Vladar continued his hot streak with huge saves against Florida and New Jersey, while Joseph Woll turned in a spectacular performance for Toronto, flashing full-extension desperation stops vs. Columbus.

Seattle’s Joey Daccord robbed Dallas star Mikko Rantanen with a clean “dandy” glove grab, and New York’s Igor Shesterkin came up clutch with back-to-back pad lifts to deny Jackson Blake and Andrei Svechnikov in tight.

Chicago’s Arvid Söderblom stretched just far enough to stone Ozzy Weisblatt — only for Nashville’s Juuse Saros to answer minutes later by racing back to his crease to stop Connor Bedard on a Grade-A chance.

Colorado’s MacKenzie Blackwood, sporting the Nordiques throwback, kicked out a dangerous Brendan Gallagher attempt, while Buffalo’s Colton Ellis shut down Kirill Kaprizov’s wraparound just in time.

Calgary’s Jacob Markstrom showed wizard-level glove work on a yawning-cage chance for Noah Cates, and LA’s Anton Forsberg produced one of the closest goal-line saves of the season on Elias Pettersson.

Washington’s Logan Thompson went full retro with a windmill glove on Anders Lee, and New Jersey’s Elvis Merzlikins capped things off with a full-stretch desperation stop that somehow kept the puck out.
