Skating speed: 24.61 miles per hour – Connor McDavid (F, EDM)
McDavid reached his top skating speed of the NHL EDGE tracking era (since 2021-22) for the Edmonton Oilers in the second period against the Calgary Flames on Oct. 8, surpassing his previous high of 24.19 mph from the 2023-24 season.
The only top skating speed faster than McDavid’s mark in the regular season or Stanley Cup Playoffs since 2021-22 was Miles Wood (24.82 mph) last season. McDavid leads the NHL in both 22-plus mph speed bursts (44) and 20-plus mph bursts (203) this season.

High-danger save percentage: .908 – Brandon Bussi (G, CAR)
Among goalies to play at least eight games this season, Bussi leads the NHL in high-danger save percentage (59 saves on 65 shots faced). Bussi, who’s on a five-game winning streak, is 7-1-0 in eight games and coming off his first career NHL shutout against the Calgary Flames on Sunday (stopped all 15 shots faced).
The Carolina Hurricanes are once again leading the NHL in both offensive zone time percentage (45.7) and 5-on-5 shot attempts percentage (59.2). Bussi has been a part of a three-goalie rotation with Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov (currently out with injury).
