Roope Hintz scored for the third straight game, and Esa Lindell also scored for the Stars (15-5-4), who extended their point streak to four games (3-0-1) and their road point streak to 10 (7-0-3). Casey DeSmith made 26 saves.

“I think it’s an organizational depth win on defense,” Gulutzan said. “They’ve done a really good job, and Esa … was a monster tonight. I think [he had] 28 minutes, somewhere in there, and a big goal.”

Brandon Montour and Vince Dunn scored for the Kraken (11-6-6), who have lost their last two (0-1-1). Daccord made 18 saves.

The Kraken went 0-for-5 on the power play.

“Entry-wise, I didn’t think we did a great job, as we strove to enter the zone,” Seattle coach Lane Lambert said of the power play. “Give them credit. They’re a big team, they’ve got long guys and big defensemen, but we could have done a better job there. … [The power play] was needed tonight, and it’s been good for us, and it’s been there when we’ve needed it in the past. Tonight wasn’t that night.”

Hintz made it 1-0 Dallas at 5:52 of the first period off a high tip play, redirecting Alexander Petrovic’s shot-pass through Daccord’s five-hole from the slot.

“You look at the first goal, we’re trying to get inside on a team that’s very hard to get inside on. We got in there, got a little bounce here that got in, that got us started,” Gulutzan said. “Whenever you’re back-to-back and you get the first goal, it gives you a little life, so that helps.”
