BROSSARD — The Montreal Canadiens have signed a four-year contract extension with forward Alex Newhook, the NHL team announced Tuesday.
The deal carries an average annual value of US$5.55 million and begins in the 2027-28 season.
Newhook recorded 13 goals and 12 assists in 42 games with the Canadiens last season, including two power-play goals and two game-winning goals.
The 25-year-old then had 10 points in 19 games, and scored the series-clinching goal in both of Montreal’s Game 7 victories, during the team’s run to the Eastern Conference final in the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs.
