Canadiens sign Arber Xhekaj to one-year deal

Defenceman Arber Xhekaj has agreed to a one-year deal, worth $1.5 million, the team announced Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Xhekaj appeared in 65 games last season, scoring a goal and four points while averaging 11:25 minutes of ice time.

Xhekaj also appeared in 13 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where he had a pair of points.

Montreal signed the Hamilton, Ont., native as an undrafted free agent back in October of 2021.
