Former Canadiens forward André Pronovost dies at age 90

The Canadiens announced Wednesday morning that former left-winger André Pronovost has died at age 90.

Pronovost played five seasons with the Canadiens and won the Stanley Cup in each of the first four, starting in 1956-57. The Shawinigan native’s 10-year NHL career included stints with the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota North Stars.

Pronovost’s most productive season with the Canadiens was in 1959-60 when he had 12-19-31 totals in 69 games. He finished his NHL career with 94-104-198 totals in 556 regular-season games.
