Trois-Rivières Lions | Lions to Host Historic First-Ever ECHL Rivalry Series Game
The Trois-Rivières Lions (the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) are proud to announce that they will host a game as part of the ECHL Rivalry Series, marking the first edition of the series in league history.
The Lions will face the Adirondack Thunder (the ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils) in a three-game series pitting Canadian representatives against their American counterparts.
The first chapter of the series will take place on Friday, January 8, at 7 p.m. at Colisée Vidéotron. For the occasion, the Lions will proudly represent Canada and defend the country’s colours in front of their home fans.
The two teams will meet again the following day in New York State, where they will play the final two games of the series on January 9 and 10. The series will therefore conclude on American soil.
A special game-day programming lineup will also be presented at Colisée Vidéotron to celebrate this inaugural event and immerse fans in the heart of the Canada–United States hockey rivalry. Details of the special programming will be announced later this season.
The ECHL Rivalry Series game is part of a schedule featuring 18 theme games for the Lions during the 2026–27 season. Among the events already announced are fan favourites such as Mascot Night and Affiliation Night, as well as new themes including Casino Night and Toy Story Night.
One final theme game remains a mystery… and will be revealed at a later date.
