What we learned in The Rebuild S3 debut

MONTREAL – Good things come in threes, and the Habs behind-the-scenes show on Crave is no exception. Season 3 of The Rebuild: Inside the Montreal Canadiens premieres Tuesday, September 1, exclusively on the Canadian streaming platform. 

The two-episode launch takes fans inside team meetings, pregame strategy sessions, home opener preparations, a pair of key signings, and life at home and on the road from Quebec City to Las Vegas and beyond. 

Here are four storylines to watch for in the first two episodes of the new season: 

Making a Bold statement (Episode 1) 

If three goals in three games is not a hot start to the season, we don’t know what is. Join Zachary Bolduc as he reflects on wearing No. 76, what it means to play for the team he grew up cheering for as a native of Trois-Rivières, QC, and watch him hit the links for a quick round of golf in Nuns Island. 

You Kent be late (Episode 1) 

Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable. President of hockey operations Jeff Gorton humorously reminds general manager Kent Hughes of the importance of being on time as the latter is running late to meet Gorton for their walk to the Bell Centre ahead of the Canadiens’ home opener. The dynamic duo is greeted by fans and rival supporters on their walk to the rink. 

Family first for Mike Matheson (Episode 2) 

Mike Matheson gets candid about his desire to stay in Montreal for his family and win a Stanley Cup here as he drives to the Bell Centre for the Canadiens’ annual Blood Drive following practice in Brossard. 

Two rookies and a sophomore take on Vegas… (Episode 2) 

…sort of. Catch a ride with Ivan Demidov, Lane Hutson and Oliver Kapanen as they head to snap a pic with the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign and drive around Vegas. Their friendship is the star of the segment as they playfully tease each other and share advice they have for one another… that they don’t always agree with. 

Episodes 1 and 2 of Season 3 of The Rebuild: Inside the Montreal Canadiens debut on September 1 on Crave. Subsequent episodes of the six-part series release individually on Tuesdays, with the season finale set for September 29, on the same day the Habs open the 2026-27 season against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
