On The Last Episode Of Canadiens Embedded
On Monday night, the Montreal Canadiens premiered the last episode of their Canadiens Embedded series, which was centered around the team’s last road trip of the 2025-26 regular season. Much of it was about Cole Caufield’s chase for his 50th goal, but there were also a few interesting insights in the episodes.
For instance, on March 29, when the Canadiens visited the Carolina Hurricanes and won 3-1, Arber Xhekaj played his first game at forward. As a result, he was awarded the man of the match wolf pelt by none other than Jayden Struble, the man because of whom he ended up playing up front. You can’t make this stuff up…

Canadiens Had The Edge In Skating Speed
An interesting segment highlighted Adam Nicholas’ role with the club, where the skills coach spoke about Martin St-Louis in glowing terms. For those who religiously follow the Canadiens’ social media content, it might have felt like a bit of “Déjà vu,” since the interview was actually the topic of an article they put out a while ago, but it was still interesting to watch.
Another point of note is the fact that in the Habs game against the New Jersey Devils, despite the game being on the road, you could actually feel the anticipation in Newark every single time Caufield touched the puck. Of course, many Canadiens fans made the trip hoping to witness history being made, but the building was still mostly filled with Devils fans. That game ended in a 4-3 win, and while Caufield did score, it was in the shootout and didn’t count toward his season total; he still picked up a couple of assists.
After the game, the sniper, who had been the man of the match in the previous game, chose to give the wolf pelt to Jakub Dobes, not only because he had made 35 saves in the win, but also because it was after a 4-3 overtime loss to those same Devils that the rookie goaltender had broken into tears in front of the media in November. Caufield just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tease his teammate about it, and it got a good reaction from the room.

Overall, it’s a good little starter before Tuesday’s main course, the first episode of the third series of The Rebuild on Crave.
