Dallas Stars Weekly: National TV, Promotional, & Preseason Schedules Released – The Hockey Writers – Dallas Stars
The NHL season is right around the corner, and until then, we will talk about what we can before teams hit the ice.
Last week, the NHL announced the national broadcast schedule in the United States for the 2026-27 season. Your Dallas Stars will appear on either ESPN, ABC, TNT, or ESPN+ 13 times. Not to be outdone, the Stars announced their promotional schedule last week as well. Here’s what we have to look forward to in the months ahead.
2026-27 Stars’ National TV Schedule
You will find the Stars’ full television schedule below, but here are some games that caught my eye. The schedule starts with their home opener on Oct. 2 against the St. Louis Blues on TNT, and ends with the team in St. Louis on Feb. 28 on ESPN. Dallas went 3-1-0 in four games against the Blues last season.
The two games after the home opener are back-to-back games on Oct. 13 (ESPN) and 14 (TNT) against the Colorado Avalanche, with the first game being in Dallas. The Stars were 2-1-1 against the Western Conference Finalists last season.

Dallas plays three games against the Vegas Golden Knights. The first two are on Nov. 17 (TNT) and Nov. 19 (ESPN) in Vegas. The third is the Stadium Series game at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Feb. 20, which will be on ABC. The Stars were 2-1-0 against the Golden Knights last season.
I have circled two other games on my calendar. Dec. 15 (TNT) could be Alex Ovechkin’s final trip to the American Airlines Center as the Washington Capitals visit Dallas. Ovechkin signed a one-year extension this summer ahead of what could be his last season in the NHL. He turns 41 in September.
The second is on Jan. 20 (TNT), when the Stars visit the Chicago Blackhawks. Seeing Connor Bedard on the big stage is always fun. Last season, Dallas went 2-0-0 against the Capitals and 2-0-1 against the Blackhawks.
