Top 20 Canadiens Prospects Fan Vote: 2026 Final Rankings
We’ve reached the end of our summer odyssey ranking the top 20 Montreal Canadiens prospects, as voted on by Habs fans.
Before we dive into the final list, I’d like to extend a genuine thank-you to everyone who helped shape the rankings by participating in the initial fan vote, as well as to the thousands of Canadiens faithful who read, shared, and enjoyed this annual series.

For the second consecutive season, fans selected dynamic University of Michigan forward Michael Hage as the organization’s top prospect, followed by heir apparent Jacob Fowler and skilled winger Alexander Zharovsky.
Considering the Habs have recently graduated a number of elite prospects to the NHL, including Lane Hutson and Ivan Demidov, the quality of the players featured in this series is rather encouraging.
Overall, fans did an outstanding job ranking the players, though I occasionally disagreed with the majority.
I would have dropped David Reinbacher a couple of spots while giving Adam Engstrom a slight bump. All things considered, Engstrom is well ahead of Reinbacher from a development standpoint. When we compare their AHL numbers, it’s quite clear that one has found his rhythm while the other continues to work on his speed of execution and timing. On the other side of the coin, if Reinbacher does earn a permanent NHL role, the mere fact that he’s a right-handed defenceman with a solid frame makes him one of the most interesting players in the mix.

Additionally, I would have ranked Timofei Runtso a little higher than No. 12 and placed Logan Sawyer closer to the No. 10–12 range rather than No. 17.
Regardless, I feel confident saying that the Canadiens fans who participated in this project displayed a fantastic level of knowledge about the team’s best young players.
As a reminder, to qualify for the vote, players must be 23 years old or younger and have fewer than 100 NHL games under their belt.
