It was announced on Tuesday that The Rebuild – Behind the Montreal Canadiens show will have a third season that will start streaming on September 1st on Crave. Will Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes finally find what he needs on the NHL trade market and give the writers even more to write on?

Starting in the 2026-27 season, NHL franchises can now assign their 19-year old prospects to the AHL rather than sending them back to their Junior clubs in the CHL. 18 year old prospects must still be returned to the CHL if they don’t make the NHL.
Team Canada’s dominance at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup tournament continued on Tuesday night with a 6-1 victory over Slovakia. In their second game, it was forward Kayden Stroeder who led the way for Canada with two goals, while potential 2027 first overall pick defenseman Landon DuPont had a goal and an assist.

Much like the Canadians, Team USA continued their winning ways at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup with a 4-1 victory against Finland to improve to 2-0 in the tournament thus far. Forward Ethan Sung scored two goals for the Americans in the win.
