Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis gave comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld a Habs jersey on Thursday night as a token of appreciation after admitting to falling asleep to Seinfeld after games to unwind.

“Seinfeld helps me disconnect from everything,” said St. Louis.

The jersey was personalized with the number 1 and “Seinfeld” written on the back.

Seinfeld was performing two sold-out shows at the Wilfrid-Pelletier Theatre at Place des Arts as part of the Just For Laughs festival.

In April, during the Canadiens’ first-round playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, St. Louis admitted to reporters that Seinfeld was his guilty pleasure to help reduce stress. St. Louis said he had watched the entire nine-season series four times.

“It’s a show about nothing,” he said. “So you can just think about nothing, and you don’t even have to actually watch it, you can just listen to it because you know the characters and so it’s easy to fall asleep.”
