We have a new signing to announce within the Montreal Canadiens organization ahead of next season.
The Trois-Rivières Lions, the Canadiens’ ECHL affiliate, have signed forward Sean Gulka for the 2026-27 season, clearly betting on his physical style of play.
The left-shot forward returns for a second season with the organization. Gulka is the kind of player who never backs down from anyone.
Physical and always ready to stand up for his teammates, he brings the type of presence no team enjoys facing.
He joined the organization on November 18 of last year and scored in his very first game with the Lions on November 19.
Last season, he appeared in 27 games, recording one goal while piling up 63 penalty minutes.

Over 68 career ECHL games, he has totaled three goals, three assists, and 217 penalty minutes.
The same pattern emerged during his time with the Pensacola Ice Flyers in the SPHL. In 74 games, he recorded 25 points and 214 penalty minutes.
The tough winger also made his ambitions clear in a message to the fans.
I can promise all of our fans that we’ll do everything we can to bring home that Cup. I already can’t wait to see all of you again in October. Enjoy the rest of your summer!”
He rejoins a core that includes Anthony Beauregard, Mathias Laferrière, and Landon Fuller under head coach Ron Choules.
The Lions open their season on Friday, October 16, at Colisée Vidéotron. With a player like Gulka in the lineup, visiting teams will have to keep their heads up from opening night.
