Kent Hughes officially signs the player he acquired

The forward has recorded 80 points in 184 games with Columbus’ AHL affiliate in Cleveland.

Luke Tuch leaves the Canadiens without ever playing an NHL game

On the other side, Luke Tuch has moved on.

A former second-round pick, he never played a single NHL game with the Canadiens.

Selected 47th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, he was never able to break through in Montreal. He still managed to record 28 points in 114 games with the Laval Rocket.

His last name is far from unfamiliar, by the way.

His brother, Alex, was just traded to the Capitals in a much bigger deal.

For McKown, today’s signing officially marks a fresh start, and it represents a real opportunity for him.

A change of scenery can sometimes open doors a player thought were closed elsewhere.

These two-way contracts also give the Canadiens added flexibility. The players can be recalled when needed without adding unnecessary pressure to the salary cap.
