Leo Carlsson‘s situation has just reached a pretty incredible level.

No fewer than four teams submitted offer sheets to the young Anaheim Ducks center. That’s huge!

It was Darren Dreger who broke the news, a development that is obviously shaking up the entire NHL market, just as many believed we were headed for a fairly quiet summer.

“This will certainly juice the market according to several player agents. Carlsson had 4 teams present Offer Sheets and several who shard a high level of interest.”

The Flyers are one of those teams.

Daniel Brière took his shot at the talented forward.

The Canadiens had the cap space to join the Leo Carlsson offer sheet sweepstakes

Were the Montreal Canadiens among the four teams that submitted an offer sheet to young Carlsson?

One thing is certain: Anaheim has put itself in a difficult position.

The Ducks left their young star player exposed to this kind of offer.

Now the ball is in Pat Verbeek’s court.

The Ducks’ general manager will have to decide whether or not to match the offer sheet.

Opinions differ among his fellow general managers.

One GM believes he should match it, while another suggests taking the draft picks and calling Detroit about Dylan Larkin.
Barrett Hayton received one. Carlsson did too. And another offer sheet situation is reportedly still in the works, according to rumors.

We can’t wait to see how Verbeek decides over the next few days.

We don’t know whether Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens submitted one of those offer sheets, but one thing is certain: they had the cap space to do it.
