“It’s upsetting, I’m going to be honest,” Cassidy said, noting that even if he were to resign, he would be unable to pursue other employment until next summer, anyway.
“I can’t resign today and go work for someone tomorrow. I can’t work until Vegas gives me permission until this contract is up.
In this case, there were two teams that asked, it’s public knowledge now, and I’d like to talk to them. I want to go to work, I’m a hockey coach.”
It is unclear if Vegas will eventually grant the Oilers and Kings permission. The Golden Knights are waiting to see who they will face in the Stanley Cup Final.
