Bruins making assistant coaching change — The Fourth Period
The Boston Bruins are parting ways with assistant coach Jay Leach, according to TFP’s David Pagnotta.
Pagnotta reported the news on today’s episode of the DFO Rundown Insider Edition, telling co-host Irfaan Gaffar that a search for a replacement has begun.
“This was a team that was on the rise with (head coach) Marco Sturm coming in,” Pagnotta said. “They got back in the post-season … significant improvement from the season prior. They want to continue to grow off that on and off the ice.”
Leach spend two seasons with the Bruins as an assistant coach after spending three seasons with the Seattle Kraken in the same role.
Leach interviewed for multiple head coach vacancies last off-season and is rumoured to be among the potential candidates for the head coach position with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
