Ovechkin to make decision about future in summer — The Fourth Period
Alex Ovechkin may be playing in his last NHL season. He may have another year left in him, or more. The Washington Capitals don’t know, and neither does Ovechkin himself.
In a clip from an interview with Monumental Sports Network, Ovechkin admitted that he still doesn’t know what the future has in store for him.
“Not yet. We’re going to make a decision in the summer,” he said. “I have to talk to my family, to (Capitals owner Ted Leonsis), to (Capitals management) and I have to make a decision in the summer.”
The full interview will air tonight in the Capitals’ pregame show, Caps Pregame Live.
Ovechkin also indicated that the biggest determining back for him is how he is holding up “health wise.”
“I’m going to be 41 years old in September,” he said. “You just have to be smart about it.”
