During last night’s 7-3 win over the Islanders, Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes received an official warning without stepping on the ice at the Bell Centre.
Safe to say the 6-foot-4 Czech’s passion was overflowing a bit too much for the officials’ liking.
According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, a referee went directly to Dobes at the end of the bench early in the second period to tell him to tone it down.
The netminder didn’t hesitate to chirp Patrick Roy’s players and challenge nearly every decision.
‘Please, calm down.'”

Dobes lives the game at 100%, even when it’s Jacob Fowler in net. Fowler stopped 19 shots to help secure the win.
Let’s be honest-seeing a young goaltender with that much fire in his eyes is an excellent sign for Martin St-Louis’ locker room culture.
Jakub Dobes holds a 22-8-4 record this season, and he clearly has no intention of giving up his spot.
Jakub Dobes Canadiens warning vs Islanders highlights passionate bench impact
This psychological battle from the bench shows that the Canadiens are getting under their opponent’s skin.
You love to see that kind of emotional investment. WOW!
The Canadiens now hold a 38-21-10 record, and every point matters in the playoff race.
If Dobes can help by getting in the other team’s head from the bench, he should keep doing exactly that.
