Hickey: Habs’ Juraj Slafkovsky, Slovakia could be shut out of World Cup
The proposed participants are Canada, the U.S., Sweden, Finland, Germany, Czechia, Switzerland and Russia. They all feature more NHL players than Slovakia, which had only seven NHLers on the roster at the Milano Cortina Olympics. Presumably, Slovakia will grab the eighth spot if Russia is still persona non grata, but Russia or not, Slovakia belongs in this event.
