Injured Rocket goalie Jacob Fowler to sit out AHL All-Star events

Laval Rocket goaltender Jacob Fowler is at the American Hockey League’s all-star events but won’t be playing in either the skills competition or All-Star Challenge, the team announced on Tuesday, citing an unspecified upper-body injury.
“He will stay on the bench for both events,”
.
Fowler was named to the all-star team last month (while he was still part of a three-goalie rotation with the Canadiens) along with Rocket centre Laurent Dauphin and defenceman Adam Engstrom. Rocket head coach Pascal Vincent is also participating in the event in Rockford, Ill.
Fowler, 21, went 4-4-2 in NHL play and recorded a shutout before he was returned to Laval on Jan. 16.
