The Montreal Canadiens (31-17-8) play their final game before the break for the Winter Olympics against the Winnipeg Jets (22-25-8) on Wednesday at Canada Life Centre.

Puck drop at 7 p.m. (Sportsnet, RDS, TSN Radio 690, 98.5 FM).

Here’s what you need to know:

  • After tonight, the Canadiens don’t play again until Feb. 26 against the New York Islanders.

  • Samuel Montembeault gets the start in goal after Jakub Dobes started four in a row. Montembeault last played on Jan. 24.

  • The Habs are 3-0-1 in their last four games.

  • Former Jet Patrik Laine is close to returning from injury, but it won’t be tonight against his old club.

All Jets early in the first period. With Josh Anderson in the box, Kyle Connor scored his 25th of the season to give Winnipeg a 1-0 lead. At one point the Jets led 8-0 in shots.

The Habs came back towards the end of the first period. Oliver Kapanen feasted on the Connor Hellebuyck rebound to tie it up 1-1.
