The Detroit Red Wings get set for a marquee matchup with the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.

The Red Wings come into Hockey Night in Canada looking to build off a solid win on Thursday. The team put together an exceptional effort against the Vancouver Canucks on home ice, using a couple of goals from Patrick Kane to power the team to a 5-1 win.

The goals also gave Kane 500 in his NHL career, becoming just the fifth American-born player to accomplish the feat. The team has now won back-to-back games, and four of its past six, keeping up with the best in the Atlantic Division.

One of those teams is the Canadiens. The young and exciting roster has certainly suffered some bumps in the road this season, but they have been good enough to stay in the top three in the Atlantic Division. Following a 6-2 beating of the Florida Panthers on Thursday night, Montreal has won three games in a row, and five of its past six.

The two teams currently sit tied for the most points in the Atlantic, with the Habs sitting first thanks to playing one less game.
