Florida Panthers forward Anton Lundell has been fined for $5,000 for high-sticking Montreal Canadiens winger Alexandre Texier.

The incident occurred in the second period of Montreal’s 6-2 win over the Panthers on Thursday, with Lundell receiving a double-minor penalty at the time. The Canadiens did not score on the ensuing power play, but Texier scored two more goals in the third period to complete his hat trick.

Lundell, 24, has 13 goals and 31 points in 43 games this season while picking up 22 penalty minutes. The $5,000 fine is the maximum allowable for Lundell, who is signed through 2029-30 at a cap hit of $5 million.

Thursday’s loss dropped the Panthers to 22-18-3, three points out of a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Canadiens moved to first in the Atlantic Division with Thursday’s win, equal in points with the Detroit Red Wings with one game in hand.
